Help Stop the Veterans Administration from Using Horse Urine Drugs!

I am calling out to all veterans to help me stop the V.A. and its doctors from prescribing the health risk increasing drugs created from conjugated equine estrogen, marketed to menopausal women and people with osteoporosis.  The V.A. doctors are unaware of the abuse the horses are made to endure, unaware of the fact that the foals (created from impregnating mares for their urine) are slaughtered to be sold as meat, and that often these foals are send to “rodeos” for the sport of “horse tripping” (which injures and strangles these innocent creatures) before they are even sent to the slaughter house.  Last month, when I told my Women’s Clinic V.A. doctor about this abuse, she said Premarin is the only formulary drug option at the V.A.

It is my goal to get all equine urine drugs (Premarin, Prempro, Premphase, and Duavee) off of the V.A.’s formulary pharmacy list.  It is a cruel industry at every level and it needs to be stopped.  Visit Dreamchaser PMU Rescue and Rehabilitation (www.dreamchaserhorserescue.rescuegroups.org), and Four Corners Equine Rescue (www.fourcornersequinerescue.org) for more information.  There are many more horse rescue sanctuaries doing their part in helping these graceful, abused souls.

Please, get involved!  Research this PMU (Pregnant Mare Urine) farm industry. Inform every doctor and nurse you come in contact with about this cruelty.  Insist on plant-based alternatives that don’t increase your risk of cancer, heart attacks and strokes.  Donate money to a sanctuary and/or your time and effort to stop this horrific industry from continuing.  Help organizations like the Humane Society or PETA in their fight against this inhumane practice.  Contact your congressperson(s).  Sign petitions.  Tell yours friends and family.  Everything you do will make a difference!
